KEBO VALLEY GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bar Harbor, ME, USA
Designed by Herbert C. Leeds, William Bradley Booth

Kebo Valley is, in many ways, the soul of Bar Harbor, a venerable tapestry woven from Maine's rugged beauty and golf's timeless allure. Carved into the rolling landscape just outside the heart of town, Kebo Valley presents a classic parkland challenge, its fairways lined with towering pines and the occasional granite outcropping peeking through. Its undulating greens demand a deft touch and shrewd reading, while strategically placed bunkers quietly punish the errant shot. Don't expect to overpower this course; instead, find its rhythm to be rewarded.
Designed in 1888 by Herbert Leeds (also the architect for nearby Myopia Hunt Club), with later enhancements by Donald Ross, Kebo Valley breathes history. You can almost hear the echoes of hickory shafts and guttie balls as you navigate its routing. Though it has never hosted a major professional event, Kebo Valley holds a revered place in Maine's golfing landscape and beyond.
Kebo’s membership is as much a part of the club’s identity as the course itself; a blend of summer residents, local business owners, and passionate golfers drawn to the club's easy camaraderie. The clubhouse, while not extravagant, exudes a quiet elegance, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The post-round tradition centers around the 19th hole, where stories of near misses and unexpected triumphs are shared with equal enthusiasm, often while enjoying a classic Maine lobster roll.
Reviews
Back when I first started golf 24 years ago Kebo Valley was one of my regular courses. It’s a fun course in Bar Harbor wrapped with a bunch of undulation around the Mountain near the Ocean. Will always have good vibes when I go back home and play this
