KAWARTHA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇨🇦 Peterborough, Ontario, CA
Designed by Stanley Thompson.

Kawartha Golf and Country Club, a fixture of Peterborough golf since 1924, possesses a unique spirit fostered by its original founding members who prioritized camaraderie over championship pedigree. The course reflects this ethos.
Designed by the esteemed Scottish professional Nicol Thompson during the parkland era, Kawartha is set upon rolling terrain carved from the region's verdant landscape, playing shorter than most modern courses but with its tree lined fairways protecting the greens well. Its layout favors strategic play and shot-making over sheer power, with subtle doglegs and undulating greens that present a challenge to even the most seasoned golfer.
Though not a frequent host to major championships, Kawartha has served as a proving ground for generations of local talent. Its appeal lies in its accessible yet engaging layout. The club maintains a loyal membership, many of whom trace their lineage back to the club's early days and continue to frequent the club for post round gatherings and meals. A well known social club where everyone knows everyone.
