JACKSON HOLE GOLF TENNIS CLUB
🇺🇸 Jackson, WY, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Jackson Hole Golf Tennis Club sits in the Teton Range foothills just north of Jackson, Wyoming, occupying terrain that offers dramatic views of the surrounding peaks while presenting golfers with significant elevation changes and natural hazards. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed the course in the early 1960s during a period when he was establishing his reputation for routing layouts that work with rather than against mountainous topography. The design takes advantage of the property's natural contours, incorporating native grasses, sagebrush, and stands of cottonwood and aspen that frame many holes.
The course plays at elevation—over 6,000 feet—which affects both distance and stamina. Jones routed the holes to create variety in playing angles and shot requirements, with several holes demanding accurate placement over or around natural ravines and water features fed by mountain runoff. The back nine in particular moves through more dramatic terrain, where elevation shifts can make club selection challenging and where the views toward the Tetons are most pronounced.
The club serves both local members and visitors to the Jackson Hole area, functioning as a traditional summer golf destination in a region better known for winter skiing. The relatively short mountain growing season means the course operates from late spring through early fall, and conditions reflect the high-altitude environment and cooler nights typical of northwestern Wyoming.
