ISLEWORTH GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Windermere, FL, USA
Designed by Arnold Palmer, Steve Smyers
Isleworth, carved into the Butler Chain of Lakes near Windermere, Florida, is synonymous with power golf. A modern design that favors aggressive play and rewards length off the tee, the course snakes through heavily landscaped terrain. Isleworth's terrain is uniquely challenging given the proximity to so many lakes. This requires players to manage risk with a variety of tee boxes. Isleworth tests even the best players with its length.
Originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, with a later renovation by Steve Smyers, Isleworth was built for a specific purpose. It's been a crucible for some of the games most promising amateurs and professionals. Isleworth’s layout is notorious for its demanding par-4s and slick, undulating greens, demanding pinpoint accuracy on approach shots.
The club’s membership has historically boasted a roster of top-ranked players, who are drawn to its challenging layout and world-class practice facilities. The course has hosted numerous high-profile amateur events over the years. While it hasn't hosted a major professional event, its members have certainly shaped the highest levels of the game.
Reviews
A really good course in the Orlando Area. It does have some aspects of a typical Florida course, but it’s in impeccable condition and does have some variety in the layout.
