The Club at Irish Creek

Designed by Davis Love III, the course favors a strategic approach, with generous fairways that invite aggressive tee shots, but quickly punishes errant approaches to undulating greens. It has a few blind tee shots on the back 9 that can be a bit penal for first timers. Built on former farmland, the course retains a rustic charm, accentuated by meandering creeks and mature hardwoods framing each hole. The challenges here are not necessarily length, but rather the golfer’s ability to navigate the subtle breaks on the greens. It plays deceptively long in the late months of fall as the Bermuda grass goes dormant. While not a frequent host to major championships, Irish Creek has cultivated a reputation as a challenging and enjoyable test for players of all skill levels. The membership, a mix of local business leaders and passionate golfers, prizes camaraderie and a love for the game above all else. The club has become well known in the Carolinas for it's social events, particularly the annual Member-Guest, a multi-day event that showcases the club's hospitality and competitive spirit. Many groups of Charlotte golfers often make the short trip to Irish Creek for a weekend golf retreat.
