Water comes into play on several holes, but the design emphasizes width and angles rather than forced carries. Champions Gate operates primarily as a resort and residential facility, serving guests of the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate and property owners within the development. The club has hosted various regional amateur events and serves as a practice facility for professional golfers, particularly international players preparing for the Florida swing of the PGA Tour.
