INTERLACHEN COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Edina, MN, USA
Designed by Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones Sr.
Interlachen Country Club isn't merely a setting for Bobby Jones’s legendary 1930 U.S. Open victory; it’s a living testament to that golden era of golf. Carved into the rolling landscape of Edina, just outside Minneapolis, the course unfolds as a classic parkland design. Its strategic bunkering and mature trees encourage a calculated, thoughtful approach, rewarding those who can shape shots and manage the subtle undulations of the greens. A slight fade often proves beneficial navigating its tree-lined fairways.
Designed by Willie Watson, with significant enhancements by Donald Ross, Interlachen retains the hallmarks of its early 20th-century origins while subtly evolving to challenge the modern game. Its fairways have witnessed not only Jones’s triumph but also the 1986 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2002 Solheim Cup, etching its name in the annals of championship golf.
Interlachen holds a respected position within the upper echelon of Midwestern golf, a place where generations have honed their games and cherished the traditions of the sport. The membership, known for its understated elegance, often gathers at the club's halfway house for a quick bite, especially a renowned chicken salad sandwich, a culinary staple whispered about throughout the Minneapolis golfing community. This is a club with a soul, deeply connected to its past and committed to the future of the game.

Incredible, can only imagine getting play this more often. Once in a lifetime opportunity, played my best round ever too. Great day
First time playing it in 10 years and was blown away with the recent restoration. Deserving of the top spot in MN. Clubhouse is grand and the hospitality is outstanding.
Wonderful golf course. It's in my top handful of Ross courses with no chance to ever fall out. Very playable if you make good decisions.
Andrew Greens recent renovation is exceptional. Increased variety of pin placements, green contouring is more interesting, improved weaker holes. Always had incredible land movement and it now shows it even better
