Les Furber designed the course to work with the natural contours of the mountainside, incorporating significant elevation changes and views across Mara Lake and the surrounding valley. The routing takes advantage of the sloped property, with holes that play uphill, downhill, and across the grade in varying combinations.

The course reflects Furber's approach to mountain golf design in British Columbia, where strategic interest comes from managing elevation and reading how the terrain affects both distance and ball flight. Fairways move through stands of pine and fir, and the property's natural drainage patterns and rock outcroppings factor into hole design. Several holes play along ridgelines or drop toward the lakeshore views, while others turn back into the hillside forest.

Sicamous sits at the junction of several major lakes in the Shuswap system, a recreational area known for boating and summer tourism. The course serves both local members and visitors traveling through the region, particularly during the warmer months when the interior climate is dry and temperatures are conducive to golf.
