HICKORY HEIGHTS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Bridgeville, PA, USA
Designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan
Hickory Heights Golf Club, nestled in the rolling hills of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, offers a classic, unpretentious golfing experience steeped in local tradition. Opened in the late 1960s, the course is a fine example of mid-century parkland design, characterized by mature trees lining gently undulating fairways. Hickory Heights favors a strategic approach, rewarding thoughtful shot placement rather than brute force off the tee. Expect a number of doglegs and elevated greens that demand precise iron play.
While not a championship venue in the global sense, Hickory Heights holds a prominent place within the Pittsburgh golfing community. It serves as a beloved home course for generations of golfers in the South Hills area. The club fosters a welcoming atmosphere, known for its close-knit membership and unpretentious character.
Beyond the golf, Hickory Heights is known among locals for its popular bar and restaurant. Here, members and visitors alike gather after their rounds to relive shots made and missed. You can get a wide selection of great sandwiches and other pub fare at this popular stop off the course as well.
Reviews
What used to be one of the most interesting (if difficult) courses in Pittsburgh has become one of its worst. Terrible and rude management matched with a complete lack of care into the course has created a bad product that charges like it’s still one of the best courses in the area, which it had every potential to be.
