Heritage Shores at Heritage Shores Golf

Heritage Shores is an Arthur Hills design that opened in 2000 in Bridgeville, a small town in central Delaware roughly equidistant from the Atlantic beaches and the Chesapeake Bay. The course serves as the centerpiece of a residential community and operates as a semi-private facility, welcoming both members and daily-fee play. Hills, known for his work throughout the Mid-Atlantic and his ability to shape terrain into strategic golf holes, routed the course across gently rolling farmland characteristic of the Delmarva Peninsula.

The layout incorporates water on several holes, with ponds and wetlands coming into play as both hazards and visual elements. Hills created definition through mounding and bunkering, framing holes within the relatively open landscape. The course stretches over 7,000 yards from the back tees, offering length for accomplished players while providing forward tee options that make the design accessible to a range of skill levels. The routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes, modest by coastal plain standards but sufficient to create variety in stance and perspective.

Heritage Shores has hosted regional amateur events and qualifiers, serving the competitive golf community in southern Delaware.
