HERITAGE HILLS GOLF RESORT
🇺🇸 York, PA, USA
Designed by Russell Roberts

Heritage Hills Golf Resort sits in the rolling countryside of south-central Pennsylvania, approximately ten miles north of York. Russell Roberts designed the course, which opened in the 1980s as part of a resort and residential development. Roberts, a regional architect active during that era, routed the layout across terrain typical of the Pennsylvania Piedmont—gently rolling farmland with mature hardwoods framing many holes and modest elevation changes that add visual interest without imposing severe climbs.
The course plays through a mix of open and wooded corridors, with several holes offering views across the surrounding York County landscape. Water features come into play on a handful of holes, and bunkers are positioned to challenge approach shots and frame greens. The design reflects the resort golf aesthetic of its time: accessible to a range of skill levels while providing enough length and strategic variety to engage better players. Greens are generally moderate in size and contour, rewarding accurate iron play.
Heritage Hills functions as both a resort amenity and a semi-private facility, hosting outings, tournaments, and daily-fee play alongside member rounds. The property includes lodging and event spaces, making it a venue for golf packages and group gatherings in the York area. The course benefits from its setting in a region with a long golf tradition, situated within an hour of several other established Pennsylvania layouts and the broader Mid-Atlantic golf corridor.
Reviews
Only went once…goofy layout in a pretty confined space.
Some tight fairways and high vertical par 3s make this a fun course to play and grab a bite to eat afterward. The top tracer range on the snow tubing hill is also a fun time.
