Hawkshill at Newmachar Golf Club

Hawkshill is the second of two eighteen-hole courses at Newmachar Golf Club, located approximately ten miles north of Aberdeen in the rolling farmland of Aberdeenshire. Designed by Dave Thomas and opened in 1996, the course was built to complement the club's original Swailend layout, providing members and visitors with an alternative parkland experience in a region better known for its links golf along the coast. Thomas, a former Ryder Cup player who became a prolific course architect across Europe, shaped Hawkshill to work with the natural contours of the site while creating a layout that tests golfers of varying abilities.
