HAWKS CREEK GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Fort Worth, TX, USA
Designed by John Colligan

Hawks Creek, carved into the bluffs west of Fort Worth, is a playable reminder of the enduring Texas golf spirit. Designed by John Sanford in the late 1990s, the course favors the bold, rewarding aggressive lines with open approaches on several holes. Its forgiving fairways belie the strategic challenge presented by well-placed bunkers and subtly undulating greens, demanding creative shot-making rather than brute force.
While not a championship venue, Hawks Creek provides a stern but fair test for golfers of all abilities. Water comes into play on several holes, demanding respect, while the frequent breezes rolling off the nearby Trinity River add another layer of complexity. Locals know it as a haven to play an affordable round in the area and enjoy the peace of the game.
Beyond the course itself, Hawks Creek fosters a relaxed atmosphere. The clubhouse serves as a hub for local players, known for the easy-going members who frequent it. You might hear stories of friendly wagers and even friendlier ribbing traded amongst the regulars, but don't be surprised to see some pretty solid golf being played too. Hawks Creek may not be on the national stage, but it is a solid course that is the pride of Westworth Village.
Reviews
This is one of my favorite courses around because you get to see jets take off sometimes while you’re playing. It’s a fun layout that has a good bit of risk reward and the greens have always been in really good shape, no matter the time of year.
fun, affordable track that almost always in good shape. Spring and fall the greens can get incredibly fast for Bermuda
