HARBOR PINES GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Egg Harbor Township, NJ, USA
Designed by Stephen Kay
Harbor Pines Golf Club occupies a wooded site in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, roughly ten miles inland from Atlantic City. Designed by Stephen Kay and opened in the late 1990s, the course represents Kay's approach to routing through natural pine and oak forest typical of the southern New Jersey coastal plain. The layout moves through corridors of mature trees with sandy soil underfoot, a characteristic shared by many courses in this region of the state.
The design emphasizes strategic shot-making rather than length, with fairways that reward accuracy off the tee and greens that require thoughtful approach play. The property's natural elevation changes are modest, but Kay incorporated them to create visual interest and variety in hole presentation. Water features appear on several holes, and the sandy subsoil provides firm playing conditions and good drainage throughout the season.
Harbor Pines operates as a semi-private facility, offering both member and daily-fee play. The course serves the southern New Jersey golf market, drawing players from the Atlantic City area and the Philadelphia suburbs. Its location in Egg Harbor Township places it among several other courses that benefit from the region's relatively mild climate and extended playing season. The routing and conditioning reflect Kay's experience working in the Mid-Atlantic, where playability and maintenance efficiency are practical considerations alongside design aesthetics.
Reviews
Final round of our May 2025 golf trip. We all enjoyed this course. Some of the tee boxes were not in great shape, but overall it was in great condition. We’d play it again
A little overpriced for what it is, but still a fun track with others around the corner from each other.
