HAMLET GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Commack, NY, USA
Designed by Stephen Kay

Hamlet Golf & Country Club, nestled in Commack, Long Island, embodies a classic suburban golfing experience with a vibrant social atmosphere. Built during a boom in residential golf communities, the course offers a respite from the surrounding bustle, prioritizing camaraderie and accessibility.
The parkland-style course, designed to be forgiving from the tee, features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed water hazards that penalize errant approaches. While not overly long, it rewards smart course management and precise iron play, particularly on the challenging par-3s.
Hamlet is known more for its active membership and strong local presence than any national acclaim. It serves as a hub for the Commack community, hosting regular tournaments, social events, and thriving junior programs. The clubhouse is known for its bustling bar scene, and the club’s lobster nights are a social highlight, drawing members for both the quality of the seafood and the lively atmosphere.
Reviews
A ton of par 3s I believe six on the scorecard and a few reachable par 5s. Not terribly difficult but not easy either. You will lose some balls in the trees and bushes but not a ton. Food is also solid.
