GREYSTONE GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 White Hall, MD, USA
Designed by Joe Lee
Greystone Golf Course sits in White Hall, a small community in northern Baltimore County, Maryland. The course was designed by Joe Lee, a prolific architect whose career spanned from the 1950s through the 1980s and included hundreds of layouts across the United States, particularly in Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. Lee's work typically emphasized playability for a range of skill levels while incorporating natural terrain features and strategic bunkering.
The property occupies rolling farmland characteristic of the Piedmont region of Maryland, where elevation changes and wooded corridors frame many holes. The routing takes advantage of this topography, offering a mix of uphill and downhill shots alongside flatter stretches. Water features appear on several holes, and mature trees line fairways, requiring accuracy off the tee. The layout provides a straightforward test of golf without excessive length, making it accessible to daily-fee players and local members alike.
Greystone operates as a public facility serving the northern Baltimore suburbs and southern Pennsylvania border region. The course attracts a mix of weekend golfers, league play, and occasional tournament outings typical of municipal and semi-private venues in the area. The clubhouse offers basic amenities consistent with its role as a community course, and the setting provides a quiet, rural atmosphere removed from the more urbanized parts of the Baltimore metropolitan area.
Reviews
Nice public track - fun design that’s kept well for how much play it gets
Good public course that has unfortunately skyrocketed in price and maintenance has plummeted. A fantastic selection of par 3s which are plentiful, offset by varying par 5s lead to every round having a great chance at bringing your scores down if you’re hitting the ball well that day. I really enjoy the increased number of par 3s and 5s on this course. Unfortunately, I have had more unpleasant encounters with the staff here than I could spend time typing and I always feel ripped off walking out of the clubhouse.
