Grand Coral Riviera Maya is a Nick Price design that opened in 2008 in the resort corridor between Playa del Carmen and Tulum on Mexico's Caribbean coast. Price, working with his design partner Phil Jacobs, routed the course through dense Mayan jungle and natural limestone formations characteristic of the Yucatan Peninsula. The layout incorporates cenotes—natural sinkholes formed in the porous limestone—as both hazards and visual features, connecting the golf experience to the region's distinctive geology.

The course plays through three distinct environments across its routing. The front nine moves through thick jungle vegetation with narrow corridors and strategic positioning requirements off the tee. The middle section opens to more expansive views and encounters several cenotes that come into play. The closing stretch returns to tighter jungle passages where accuracy takes precedence over distance. The limestone substrate provides firm playing conditions, and the routing takes advantage of subtle elevation changes unusual for coastal Yucatan terrain.

Price designed the course to accommodate resort play while maintaining strategic interest for accomplished golfers. Multiple tee boxes allow for significant length variation, and the jungle margins enforce a premium on accuracy throughout. The property sits within the broader Mayakoba development area, though Grand Coral operates as a standalone facility.
