SAUCON VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Bethlehem, PA, USA
Designed by Bill Gordon, David Gordon, Ron Forse
The Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club represents the club's third championship layout, joining the Old and Weidner courses on the property in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Designed by Bill and David Gordon with consulting architect Ron Forse, the course opened in 2008 and takes its name from the Grace family, long associated with Bethlehem Steel and the club's history. The design team worked within the rolling terrain characteristic of the Lehigh Valley, creating a routing that incorporates natural elevation changes and wooded corridors.
The course measures over 7,000 yards from the championship tees and features strategic bunkering and green complexes that reward thoughtful course management. The layout moves through varied topography, with several holes playing along ridgelines and others descending into lower-lying areas. Water features come into play on select holes, adding tactical considerations to club selection and approach angles.
Saucon Valley has hosted numerous significant championships across its three courses, including multiple U.S. Senior Opens and U.S. Women's Opens on the Old Course. The Grace Course provides members with an additional championship-caliber option and has been used for club competitions and regional amateur events. The facility's three distinct courses allow the club to accommodate a range of playing preferences while maintaining the competitive standards established through its tournament history.
The club itself traces its origins to the early twentieth century and maintains strong ties to the industrial heritage of the Lehigh Valley region.
Reviews
One close to home, played a bunch, learn to appreciate it, easiest course, takes a few to appreciate.
Might be the 3rd best course at SV but it’s still very fun and challenging. Starts by playing around the Old and really comes into its own in the middle of the course. A few really cool short holes and a tough finishing stretch of 3 long Par 4’s.
