GLENS FALLS COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Queensbury, NY, USA
Designed by Donald Ross

Glens Falls Country Club, a fixture in the Adirondack foothills, exudes a quiet confidence that reflects its seasoned membership. A classic parkland design, the course meanders through rolling hills and mature forests, demanding thoughtful shot-making over sheer power. It subtly favors players who can shape the ball, navigate doglegs, and manage the elevation changes, rewarding strategic play over brute force.
Originally designed by Devereux Emmet in 1913, Glens Falls has remained largely unchanged, a testament to the enduring appeal of its classic architecture. While lacking the national spotlight, its understated elegance and challenging layout have long cultivated a loyal membership drawn from the surrounding region.
Glens Falls is steeped in local lore, a place where generations have learned the game. It is said the first club champion crafted his own putter from a persimmon branch, a testament to the club’s early days and DIY spirit. A popular haunt for Glens Falls titans of industry and community leaders, it is as deeply woven into the fabric of the region as the Adirondack pines that line its fairways. The club offers more than just golf, it is an active social calendar, and relaxed setting to enjoy time with family and friends.
Reviews
Wow, Glens Falls is SPECIAL!!!! I’ve been wanting to make the almost 5 hour long drive North to this 1912 Donald Ross Gem for years. Yesterday, I finally made the trip and it was worth every second! When mentioning the very best of Ross, everyone mentions Essex County, Oakland Hills, Plainfield, Aronimink, Wannamoisett, Seminole, the list goes on and on. Very few ever mention Glens Falls. Glens Falls is an absolute must see, especially for Ross fans. From the opening tee shot to the very end, It constantly has you looking around in awe of what Ross produced more than 100 years ago. Many will complain of the par 3 finisher but in no way did that affect my opinion of Ross’s masterpiece. Glens Falls is a MUST PLAY and I cant wait to go back!
