GLEN ANNIE GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Santa Barbara, CA, USA
Designed by Damian Pascuzzo, Robert Muir Graves

Glen Annie Golf Club sits in the foothills above Santa Barbara, occupying rolling terrain that offers views across the coastal plain toward the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands. Robert Muir Graves designed the original layout, which opened in the early 1990s, with later refinements by Damian Pascuzzo. The course takes its name from the historic Glen Annie Canyon that runs through the property, and the routing makes use of the natural topography, moving through valleys and across ridgelines characteristic of the Southern California coastal range.
The design features a mix of open, links-influenced holes on the higher ground and more sheltered, tree-lined passages in the lower elevations. Graves incorporated wide fairways and large, undulating greens, typical of his approach to public-access golf in California. The bunkering is strategic rather than penal, and the course rewards positioning off the tee given the prevailing ocean breezes that can influence play, particularly on the more exposed holes. Several holes offer dramatic elevation changes and require thoughtful club selection.
Glen Annie operates as a public facility and has served as a venue for various regional amateur competitions and collegiate events, benefiting from its proximity to the University of California, Santa Barbara. The course provides a relatively accessible option for daily-fee play in the Santa Barbara area, where private clubs dominate the landscape. The setting combines the agricultural character of the surrounding ranch land with the natural chaparral and oak woodlands typical of the Central Coast.
