Fox Classic - Woodlands at Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center

Fox Classic at Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center is a Wilfrid Reid design that opened in the mid-1960s, later renovated by Jim Lipe. The course occupies rolling terrain in Plymouth, Michigan, roughly thirty miles west of Detroit in an area that transitions from suburban development to more open countryside. Reid, a Michigan-based architect active through the mid-twentieth century, routed the course to take advantage of natural elevation changes and wooded corridors typical of southeastern Michigan's glacial topography.

The layout features tree-lined fairways with mature hardwoods framing many holes, creating defined playing corridors and strategic demands off the tee. Elevation shifts provide variety in approach shots, and several holes incorporate water hazards that come into play on both tee shots and approaches. Lipe's later work refined bunkering and green complexes while maintaining the original routing's character. The course serves as one of three eighteen-hole layouts at Fox Hills, which operates as a public facility with banquet and event space.

Fox Classic functions as a daily-fee option for golfers in the western Detroit suburbs, offering a traditional parkland experience shaped by mid-century design principles. The facility's multi-course setup and banquet operations make it a venue for local tournaments, corporate outings, and community events.
