Metedeconk National Golf Club's Founders Course occupies rolling terrain in the New Jersey Pine Barrens region of Jackson Township, roughly equidistant between the Atlantic coast and the state's western border. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the course with Roger Rulewich, who served as Jones's lead associate for many years and later completed several projects after Jones's death in 2000. The property features the sandy soils and scrub pine vegetation characteristic of the Pine Barrens ecosystem, providing natural drainage and a somewhat links-like ground game in drier conditions.
