FLAMINGOS CLUB DE GOLF
🇲🇽 Bucerias, Nayarit, MX
Designed by Percy Clifford

Flamingos Club de Golf sits along the Pacific coast in Bucerias, a small town in Nayarit just north of Puerto Vallarta. The course was designed by Percy Clifford, a Canadian architect who worked extensively in Mexico during the mid-twentieth century and contributed to the development of golf in the region during an era when resort courses were beginning to emerge along both Mexican coasts. The layout occupies coastal terrain where the Sierra Madre foothills meet the ocean, creating natural elevation changes and views across Banderas Bay.
The routing takes advantage of the topography, with holes moving through varied terrain that includes both flatter stretches near the water and more dramatic elevation shifts inland. The Pacific provides a scenic backdrop on several holes, while the tropical vegetation and mature trees that have grown in over the decades frame fairways and define playing corridors. The design reflects the strategic principles common to mid-century resort courses, with generous landing areas balanced by greenside challenges and hazards positioned to reward accurate approach play.
Flamingos serves both members and visitors in the Riviera Nayarit area. The club operates as part of the region's golf infrastructure, offering a layout that predates many of the more recent resort developments that have appeared along this stretch of coastline. The course provides a traditional golf experience in a setting where the natural landscape and ocean proximity remain central to the character of play.
