FISHERS ISLAND CLUB
🇺🇸 Fishers Island, NY, USA
Designed by Seth Raynor

Few American golf experiences begin with a ferry, a rite of passage to Fishers Island Club. This remote, exclusive haven embodies Golden Age design principles, sculpted in 1926 by the legendary Seth Raynor. The terrain is a compelling mix of seaside links and rolling parkland, with wind-swept fescue grasses framing undulating fairways and strategic bunkering reminiscent of classic British courses. Raynor's signature template holes, including the "Biarrtiz," showcase his ability to harmonize with the natural landscape.
Navigating Fishers Island requires strategic guile rather than brute force. Favoring the thoughtful player who can work the ball, the course presents a challenging yet fair test with subtle doglegs and deceptively contoured greens. While not a regular host to major championships, Fishers Island stands as a treasured sanctuary for discerning golfers who appreciate the purity of design and the solitude of its location.
The club itself cultivates an understated elegance, where generations of families have enjoyed a tradition of relaxed sophistication. While not necessarily known for hosting the biggest names in sport, it attracts those who seek to trade the spotlight for the simple pleasures of camaraderie and timeless golf, enjoyed in quiet company. After a round, members often gather for lobster rolls, a celebrated Fishers Island tradition, savoring the day's competition and the captivating view from the clubhouse veranda.
Reviews
Heaven on earth for a golfer. Been fortunate to play it a few times. If invited, outside of the birth of a child or your wedding, you go.
It’s one of one. Time capsule experience with template holes, modest length and adherence to the past. The setting cannot be replicated anywhere.
There is no better golf experience
All world experience. From the boat ride to the dock right off #17 it’s just an absolute oasis. Unmatched views and incredible Raynor template holes.
