GREENSBORO COUNTRY CLUB - CARLSON FARM COURSE
🇺🇸 Greensboro, NC, USA
Designed by Donald Steel, Ellis Maples, Jonathan Gaunt

Carlson Farm, one of two championship courses at Greensboro Country Club, quietly upholds a tradition of understated excellence in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont region. This parkland-style layout, gently rolling through the terrain west of the city, offers a classic experience marked more by strategic nuance than dramatic flair.
Designed by Donald Ross disciple, Ellis Maples, Carlson Farm presents a fair test with tree-lined fairways that reward thoughtful placement. While not a championship venue of national repute, it has hosted numerous state and regional amateur events. It underwent renovations in the early 2000s, overseen by Kris Spence.
The course’s charm lies in its subtle challenges, its emphasis on accuracy over brute power, and the welcoming atmosphere cultivated by the Greensboro Country Club membership. A round here often culminates with convivial gatherings in the clubhouse, sharing stories over the club’s famous fried chicken—a Greensboro tradition, and a cherished staple of the club experience.
