FALLS AT BLACKHAWK COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Danville, CA, USA
Designed by Ted Robinson Sr.

The Falls at Blackhawk Country Club occupies rolling terrain in Danville, situated in the San Ramon Valley east of the Oakland-Berkeley hills. Ted Robinson Sr., known throughout California for his residential course designs and signature use of water features, routed this layout through the upscale Blackhawk planned community. Robinson's work here reflects his characteristic approach: strategic water hazards, sculpted bunkering, and integration with the surrounding residential development.
The course takes its name from the water elements that define several holes, with creeks and ponds coming into play on multiple occasions throughout the round. The property's natural elevation changes provide variety in shot-making demands, and mature landscaping frames many holes. Robinson designed the course to challenge accomplished players while remaining accessible to members across skill levels, a balance typical of his country club work in Northern California.
Blackhawk Country Club serves a residential membership drawn from the broader East Bay area. The club operates as a centerpiece of the Blackhawk community, which developed significantly during the 1980s and 1990s. The Falls course complements the club's other amenities and reflects the region's growth during that period, when many similar semi-private and private clubs emerged to serve the expanding suburbs of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Reviews
Right from the first hole, a downhill par 4 where you are 100 ft in the air you are wowed. The beauty especially in the early morning is overwhelming ! Great holes, you need to drive and putt it well. And always in excellent shape….
