Designed by A.W. Tillinghast, Essex Fells showcases the Golden Age architect's penchant for natural shaping and strategic bunkering. Later, Ron Forse undertook a sensitive restoration, ensuring Tillinghast’s original vision remains vibrant for a new generation of golfers.

Essex Fells' membership comprises a close-knit community of families and avid golfers, and is known to many to be one of the few remaining golf clubs in the country that has a strong emphasis on all golf club members to walk and carry their own bags when playing a round of golf.
