ENGLISH TURN GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 New Orleans, LA, USA
Designed by Jack Nicklaus

English Turn, nestled in New Orleans, is remembered as the site where a young Tiger Woods notched his first PGA Tour victory. This late 20th-century design, carved from the flat, low-lying terrain characteristic of this part of Louisiana, presents a strategic test where water is an ever-present consideration. Pete Dye’s influence is evident in the course's undulating greens and frequent use of bulkheads that frame fairways and greens.
The routing features many doglegs that favor the player who can move the ball both ways. Though the course has hosted significant professional events, including a long run as host of the Zurich Classic, it has not achieved the national acclaim of other Dye designs. The course is noted for the need for accuracy into the greens over power off the tee.
English Turn is more than just a golf course. It’s a social hub for a discerning membership. It's known regionally as the place to be for golf.
