WAILEA GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Wailea, HI, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
The Wailea Emerald course, sculpted into the gentle slopes of Maui, whispers of accessible elegance. Designed during golf's sun-drenched resort boom, its wide fairways and forgiving greens offer a strategic counterpoint to the area's more demanding layouts.
Robert Trent Jones Jr. originally charted this inland course, weaving it through pockets of tropical foliage. It favors players who can strategically manage the prevailing trade winds, with several doglegs and well-placed bunkers subtly dictating shot selection. It's a walkable course, known for its immaculate conditions and panoramic views of the Pacific.
The Emerald course stands as a celebrated daily-fee experience. Its relaxed atmosphere is popular with vacationers and locals alike, and after a round, golfers can savor some of the finest sunset views on the island from the clubhouse lanai.
Reviews
The views were phenomenal and the course was in great shape. It’s a resorty as it gets and you pay the price for such a phenomenal location but it really is a beautiful experience.
Just not what I was hoping for with the price tag and great location. Similar to other Hawaii courses I’ve played, greens are very slow even in the morning when they’re fresh. The layout is alright, but pace, the greens, and the range being mats makes it apparent that they’re trying to shove in as many tourists as they can.
Beautiful and challenging course in paradise. Supposedly a little easier than the Gold course with room off the tees. Not cheap but views to die for and intersti g course that’s well conditioned. Hard not to award “Hawaii points”. Typical RTJ2 layout contoured greens, lots of bunkers, and some water.
