DIAMANTE GOLF CLUB
🇲🇽 Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, MX
Designed by Beau Welling, Shane Robichaud, Tiger Woods

El Cardonal at Diamante Golf Club opened in 2014 as Tiger Woods's first public-access design and his second completed course overall. Woods collaborated with Beau Welling Design on the project, with Shane Robichaud serving as lead designer. The course occupies a dramatic stretch of Baja coastline north of Cabo San Lucas, where the desert landscape meets the Pacific Ocean. The routing takes advantage of significant elevation changes and natural arroyos that define the property's character.
The layout moves through varied terrain, with several holes playing along clifftops that offer views of the ocean while others wind through lower desert corridors lined with native cardón cacti. The design emphasizes width and strategic options rather than penal hazards, with multiple routes available on many holes depending on skill level and wind conditions. The course features large, undulating greens and substantial bunkering that reflects both modern construction techniques and the rugged aesthetic of the surrounding landscape.
El Cardonal operates as part of the Diamante resort development, which also includes the Dunes Course designed by Davis Love III. The property caters primarily to resort guests and visiting golfers rather than a traditional membership structure. The course has gained recognition in various rankings of Mexican golf courses since its opening and represents one of the few designs bearing Woods's name that is accessible to daily-fee play. The Baja setting provides year-round golf in a climate marked by minimal rainfall and consistent sunshine.
