EASTLAKE COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Chula Vista, CA, USA
Designed by Ted Robinson Sr.

Eastlake Country Club sits in the master-planned community of Eastlake in Chula Vista, approximately ten miles south of downtown San Diego. Designed by Ted Robinson Sr. and opened in 1991, the course was built as the centerpiece of a large residential development in the rolling hills of southern San Diego County. Robinson, known throughout California for his work on resort and daily-fee courses, incorporated water features and strategic bunkering into a layout that serves both the private membership and the surrounding community.
The routing takes advantage of the natural elevation changes in the area, with fairways moving through valleys and over ridgelines that offer views toward the Pacific Ocean and the mountains to the east. Water comes into play on several holes, a signature element of Robinson's design philosophy, requiring golfers to make risk-reward decisions off the tee and on approach shots. The course layout accommodates players of varying skill levels through multiple tee boxes, though the back tees present a legitimate test for accomplished golfers.
Eastlake Country Club functions as a traditional private club with golf as its primary amenity. The membership draws from the local Chula Vista and greater San Diego communities, and the club maintains facilities for dining and social events. The course has hosted regional amateur competitions and serves as a venue for junior golf development in the South Bay area of San Diego County.
