EAST ORANGE GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Short Hills, NJ, USA
Designed by Stephen Kay, Tom Bendelow

East Orange Golf Course, nestled in the rolling landscape of Short Hills, isn't steeped in championship lore but it’s an accessible, enjoyable layout with a surprisingly engaging local following. The club’s strength lies in its community.
Originally designed in the early 20th century, the course has matured into a classic parkland style. Fairways are relatively generous, but tree-lined corridors demand strategic shot placement. Undulating greens add a subtle challenge, rewarding thoughtful approach play. It is not a long course, but its placement, dog legs and elevation changes force players to play smart, not just grip it and rip it.
While not a frequent host to major tournaments, East Orange provides a haven for local golf enthusiasts. Its membership is known for its relaxed atmosphere and unpretentious camaraderie. And after a round, many members gather in the clubhouse, known less for fancy cuisine and more for solid, classic fare and lively conversation.
Reviews
Fine for a local municipal course. Slightly beat up at times. I wouldn’t travel to this course but if everywhere else is packed for the day, I guess this will do. Relatively easy 18 hole course. No true signature hole or anything that will blow you away.
