THE LINKS AT NOVI
🇺🇸 Novi, MI, USA
Designed by Bob Lohmann, Jerry Matthews

The Links at Novi opened in 1996 as a 36-hole public facility in suburban Detroit, designed by Michigan-based architects Jerry Matthews and Bob Lohmann. The East Course represents one half of this daily-fee complex, which occupies rolling terrain in Oakland County northwest of Detroit. The property features a mix of open and wooded corridors typical of southeastern Michigan golf, with mature hardwoods framing several holes and more exposed links-style areas providing contrast in playing character.
The routing takes advantage of natural elevation changes across the site, creating variety in shot values and visual interest throughout the round. Water features come into play on multiple holes, and the design incorporates strategic bunkering that rewards accurate placement off the tee. The course serves a broad range of golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area, offering multiple tee options to accommodate different skill levels.
As a public facility, The Links at Novi provides accessible golf in a region with strong participation rates and a deep tradition of the game. The East Course operates alongside its companion West Course, giving the property flexibility for tournaments, outings, and daily play. The layout reflects the practical design sensibilities of its era, balancing challenge with playability for a diverse public clientele. The facility includes standard practice amenities and clubhouse services typical of municipal and daily-fee operations in the Midwest market.
