EAGLE POINT GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Eagle Point, OR, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Eagle Point Golf Course sits in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in the mid-1990s. The course occupies rolling terrain with views of the surrounding valley and distant mountain ranges, including glimpses of Mount McLoughlin on clear days. Jones routed the layout to take advantage of the natural topography, incorporating elevation changes and native vegetation throughout the property. The design reflects his characteristic emphasis on strategic options from the tee and approach play that rewards precision over pure distance.
The course plays through a mix of open and tree-lined corridors, with several holes featuring water hazards and bunker complexes that define landing areas and green surrounds. The routing moves across varied terrain, offering both uphill and downhill shots and presenting golfers with different wind conditions depending on exposure. Jones shaped greens with subtle contours that require careful reading, and many holes provide multiple angles of attack depending on pin position and player preference.
Eagle Point serves as a public facility and hosts regional amateur events, making championship-caliber design accessible to a broad range of golfers. The course conditions and maintenance standards reflect its role as a destination for visitors exploring the Rogue Valley's golf offerings. The setting combines the natural beauty of southern Oregon with a layout that challenges players through thoughtful design rather than excessive length, typical of Jones's approach to creating engaging golf on diverse landscapes.
Reviews
RTJ II course is pretty strategic diagonal hazards, some risk reward you can score if you make the right decision off the tee. Course is always in good shape, interesting layout starts and ends among housing with some open area in between but doesn’t feel cramped. Has a good restaurant, driving range and limited lodging on site. Be a nice place to spend a weekend play some golf, taste wine at nearby vineyards. Look forward to coming back As if this writing the pic Course Vaults is using for the header is not Eagle Point. See my pics
