DURANGO HILLS GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Las Vegas, NV, USA
Designed by Brian Curley

Durango Hills Golf Course opened in 1997 on the western edge of Las Vegas, designed by Brian Curley as a daily-fee facility serving the rapidly expanding residential areas near the Spring Mountains. The course occupies rolling desert terrain with elevation changes that provide views across the valley toward the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding mountain ranges. Curley's routing takes advantage of the natural contours, incorporating arroyos and desert washes into the playing corridors.
The layout measures over 6,900 yards from the back tees and features wide fairways bordered by native desert landscaping, including mesquite and creosote. Water comes into play on several holes, and the bunkering style reflects the desert target golf aesthetic common to Las Vegas courses of this era. The greens are typically elevated and contoured, requiring approach shots that account for both distance and wind conditions that can be significant in this exposed setting.
Durango Hills serves a local clientele and visiting golfers seeking accessible golf on the west side of the valley. The course operates as a municipal facility managed by the City of Las Vegas and offers a contrast to the resort-style courses on the Strip corridor. Its position near Red Rock Canyon and the foothills gives it a more rugged visual character than courses built in the flatter central valley areas.
