MONTEREY PENINSULA COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Pebble Beach, CA, USA
Designed by Seth Raynor

Dunes at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, carved into the dramatic coastal bluffs of Pebble Beach, is not merely a golf course, but a living tapestry woven from sporting tradition and breathtaking natural beauty. It is a place where the echoes of titans of the game resonate with the crash of waves against the shore.
Originally conceived in the Golden Age, the course owes its character to the keen eye of Robert Baldock, with later refinements by Rees Jones. The terrain, a classic example of links-style golf sculpted from windswept dunes, presents a constant challenge. Here, the wind is a fickle companion and course management trumps brute force. Favoring those with a strategic mind and a deft touch around the greens, the course demands respect for its subtly contoured fairways and the ever-present threat of the Pacific. Errant shots can easily find themselves swallowed by the unforgiving native grasses.
While not a regular stop on major professional tours, the Dunes Course holds a revered place in the hearts of its members and the wider golfing community. It hosted the 1952 U.S. Amateur, won by future Masters champion Jack Westland, and continues to test the mettle of accomplished amateur players. At the halfway house, one can find one of the great food items known around the Monterey Peninsula - the Fish Taco. Lightly fried cod, with a slaw of cabbage, sour cream, and salsa verde, is truly hard to beat and a staple for generations of Dunes golfers looking to fortify themselves for the back nine.
Beyond the exceptional golf, the essence of the Dunes course lies in its vibrant social fabric, a tapestry of camaraderie woven through generations of golfers. The club offers a haven for members and their guests with a sense of belonging and shared respect for the game and its traditions.

Course was in phenomenal shape, our caddie Leo was awesome
Amazing experience. Peaking at Cypress and picturing yourself living on Dunes is the only mindset you should have
One of the best days in golf you can find in America and honestly if you're playing it, you probably have a hell of a trip itinerary so congratulations. Dunes is the perfect compliment to Pebble and Cypress. It's also fun shot after fun shot. When you get to #9 the vibe goes from great to all world. I wasn't a giant fan of #18 but who cares? You're about to go have a drink with a beautiful view and the least expensive great meal you can find.
