RODD BRUDENELL RIVER GOLF RESORT
🇨🇦 Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, CA
Designed by Dana Fry, Dr. Michael Hurdzan

Dundarave occupies rolling terrain along the Brudenell River in eastern Prince Edward Island, designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry as part of the Rodd Brudenell River resort complex. The course takes its name from the historic Dundarave Estate that once stood on the property, connecting the layout to the area's Scottish settlement heritage. The design works with natural elevation changes and river views characteristic of this coastal region, where the landscape transitions between wooded areas and open meadows.
The routing incorporates several holes that play along or toward the Brudenell River, using the water as both visual backdrop and strategic element. Hurdzan and Fry, known for their environmental sensitivity and strategic variety, shaped the course to preserve mature trees and natural contours while creating distinct playing corridors. The design emphasizes ground game options and multiple routes to greens, reflecting principles both architects have applied across their portfolio of resort and daily-fee courses.
Dundarave serves as one of two championship courses at the Brudenell River resort, the other being the older Brudenell River course. Together they anchor a golf destination that draws visitors to Prince Edward Island's eastern shore, where the sport has deep roots in the island's tourism economy. The course operates within a resort setting that includes accommodations and dining facilities overlooking the river valley.
