Dix Hills Park Golf Course is a municipal facility located in the hamlet of Dix Hills in the Town of Huntington on Long Island's North Shore. The course occupies rolling terrain characteristic of the glacial moraine landscape that defines much of central Long Island, with elevation changes that are notable for the region. The property serves as both a golf course and public park, reflecting its role in the town's recreational infrastructure since its development in the latter half of the twentieth century. The layout presents a straightforward test of golf across its par-70 or par-71 configuration, depending on tee selection, with a routing that works through wooded corridors and more open parkland sections. The terrain provides natural contour to fairways and greens, and mature trees frame many holes. As a municipal course, Dix Hills Park serves a broad cross-section of Long Island golfers, from beginners to experienced players seeking an accessible and affordable round. The course operates under the Town of Huntington's parks system. The facility includes a practice area and clubhouse with basic amenities typical of public courses in the New York metropolitan area. Dix Hills Park functions primarily as a neighborhood course, offering residents and visitors a convenient option for recreational golf without the formality or expense of private club play. Its location in a densely populated suburban area makes it a practical choice for golfers throughout western Suffolk County.
