THE COUNTRY CLUB AT DC RANCH
🇺🇸 Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Designed by John Fought, Scott Miller, Tom Lehman

The Country Club at DC Ranch features 36 holes in north Scottsdale, designed through a collaborative effort by Scott Miller, John Fought, and Tom Lehman. The facility opened in the late 1990s as part of the master-planned DC Ranch community, which occupies high Sonoran Desert terrain with views toward the McDowell Mountains. The design team worked to integrate the courses into the natural desert landscape, preserving native vegetation and incorporating the area's arroyos and elevation changes into the routing.
The property offers two distinct 18-hole courses that navigate through desert washes and around natural rock outcroppings characteristic of the upper Sonoran zone. The routing takes advantage of the site's topography, with holes playing across varied elevations and through corridors defined by saguaro, palo verde, and ocotillo. The design emphasizes strategic options from the tee and around the greens, with multiple angles of approach rewarding course management over pure distance.
DC Ranch serves as the golf amenity for a private club within the larger residential development. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that functions as a social center for the community. The courses reflect the collaborative design philosophy of the three architects, blending tournament-level challenge with playability for a range of skill levels. The setting provides the desert golf experience typical of Scottsdale's northern reaches, where courses occupy less developed terrain than those closer to the city center.
