TPC DANZANTE BAY
🇲🇽 Loreto, Baja California Sur, MX
Designed by Rees Jones

TPC Danzante Bay sits on the eastern coast of Baja California Sur near the town of Loreto, overlooking the Sea of Cortez and the islands of the Loreto Bay National Marine Park. Designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2010, the course occupies dramatic desert terrain where the Sierra de la Giganta mountains descend to meet the water. The routing takes advantage of significant elevation changes, with several holes playing along ridgelines and clifftops that provide views across the sea toward Danzante Island and the surrounding archipelago.
The layout moves through arroyos and over rocky outcroppings characteristic of the Baja desert landscape, with native vegetation including cardón cacti and desert scrub framing the holes. Jones incorporated the natural topography into the design, creating holes that rise and fall with the land rather than flattening the site. Several holes play directly along the coastline, while others move inland through the more sheltered desert valleys. The contrast between the arid, rocky terrain and the blue water of the Sea of Cortez defines the visual character of the course.
As part of the TPC Network, Danzante Bay operates within a resort community that includes villa accommodations and access to the marine park. The course serves both resort guests and visiting golfers drawn to the Loreto area, which remains less developed than other Baja destinations. The remote setting and distinctive desert-meets-sea landscape give the course a different character from most Mexican resort golf.
