Nestled within the gated embrace of Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club, the Cypress/Oak course presents a demanding yet enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities in North Naples. Its modern design, characterized by generous fairways and strategically placed water hazards, encourages bold play, but errant shots are swiftly penalized. The course plays longer than its yardage suggests, particularly into the prevailing wind, rewarding those who can shape the ball effectively. Designed by Gordon Lewis, Cypress/Oak lacks the historical pedigree of some of Florida's more storied courses. It is, however, a favorite among Heritage Bay members for its playability and meticulously maintained conditions. The bentgrass greens, known for their speed and true roll, are a point of pride. Beyond the course itself, Heritage Bay fosters a welcoming atmosphere, particularly among its strong contingent of seasonal residents. While Cypress/Oak hasn't hosted any major championships, the club's active tournament schedule and social events provide ample opportunities for friendly competition and camaraderie. Members often gather at the clubhouse after a round to enjoy casual fare and recount the day's triumphs and near misses, often over the club's signature shrimp tacos, a surprisingly popular post-round treat.
