Cypress/ Meadows at Carrollwood Country Club

Carrollwood Country Club's Cypress and Meadows nines form part of a multi-course facility in the Carrollwood neighborhood of northwest Tampa. Ed Ault designed the courses, which opened in the early 1970s during a period of significant residential and golf development in the Tampa area. Ault, a Florida-based architect active from the 1960s through the 1990s, designed numerous courses across the state, typically creating layouts suited to the flat terrain and water management requirements characteristic of central Florida golf.

The Cypress and Meadows nines reflect the landscape of inland Tampa: relatively level terrain punctuated by lakes, retention ponds, and stands of native vegetation including cypress trees and palms. Water features prominently on both nines, requiring strategic placement off the tee and on approach shots. The courses incorporate the kind of straightforward, playable design common to Florida country club golf of this era, with generous fairways balanced by water hazards and bunkers that define preferred angles of play.

Carrollwood Country Club functions as a family-oriented private club serving the surrounding residential community. The facility includes additional amenities typical of Florida country clubs, with tennis, swimming, and social programming complementing the golf offerings.
