CRYSTAL FALLS GOLF CLUB
🇺🇸 Dawsonville, GA, USA
Designed by Denis Griffiths
Crystal Falls Golf Club sits in the North Georgia foothills near Dawsonville, roughly an hour north of Atlanta. Denis Griffiths designed the course, which opened in the late 1990s as part of a residential community development in this mountainous region. Griffiths, who worked extensively in the Southeast during that era, routed the layout across rolling, forested terrain characteristic of the southern Appalachian piedmont.
The course takes advantage of elevation changes and natural creek corridors that run through the property. Several holes play along or across water features, and the topography creates a mix of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies throughout the round. Mature hardwoods and pines frame the fairways, and the routing moves through varied terrain that includes both open corridors and tighter, tree-lined passages.
Crystal Falls serves primarily as a private club amenity for the surrounding residential community, though it has offered limited outside play at various points in its history. The facility includes practice areas and a clubhouse that supports member dining and social activities typical of residential golf communities in the region. The course provides a mountain golf experience within reasonable proximity to metro Atlanta, appealing to golfers who prefer a more secluded, wooded setting compared to courses in the flatter areas closer to the city.
