THE CLUB AT CRESTED BUTTE
🇺🇸 Crested Butte, CO, USA
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s golf course, woven into the tapestry of the Elk Mountain Range, is a testament to high-altitude golf where drives soar unexpectedly far against the backdrop of jagged peaks. This mountain-style course, carved into the Gunnison Valley, presents a unique challenge: adjusting to the thin air and dramatic elevation changes. The course plays with a wide-open front nine and a tighter, tree-lined back, rewarding strategic play and smart course management over brute power.
Designed by Dick Phelps, the course is known for its challenging layout that winds through aspen groves and alongside the Slate River. While not a regular stop on any major tour, its demanding slopes and spectacular views have played host to regional championships and solidified its place as a favored destination for golfers seeking a singular Colorado experience.
The membership at Crested Butte reflects the area's spirit: adventurous, nature-loving individuals who appreciate the raw beauty of their surroundings. The relaxed atmosphere extends from the fairways to the clubhouse, where stories of exceptional rounds and memorable mountain experiences are always on tap. And after a round, the hearty fare and local brews are as much a part of the Crested Butte golf experience as the views from the 18th green.
