REYNOLDS PLANTATION GOLF COURSE - THE CREEK CLUB
🇺🇸 Greensboro, GA, USA
Designed by Jim Engh

The Creek Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee (formerly Reynolds Plantation) opened in 2007 as the work of Colorado-based architect Jim Engh, known for his dramatic and unconventional design approach. The routing makes extensive use of the property's natural ravines, streams, and elevation changes along the shores of Lake Oconee in Georgia's piedmont region. Engh's design philosophy emphasizes bold visual presentation and strategic variety, and The Creek reflects this with significant terrain movement, rock outcroppings, and water features that come into play throughout the round.
The course occupies rolling, wooded land with several holes playing along or across creek corridors and wetland areas. Engh incorporated substantial earthwork to create elevated tees and greens that provide views across the landscape and the lake. The routing includes a mix of risk-reward opportunities and forced carries, characteristic of Engh's style, which tends to reward aggressive play while offering bailout areas for more conservative approaches. Green complexes feature considerable contour and are often positioned to create optical challenges from the fairway.
Reynolds Lake Oconee is a residential golf community that includes multiple courses by different architects. The Creek Course serves as one of several championship-length layouts available to members and resort guests. The club offers a full range of amenities typical of upscale Southern golf communities, with dining and lodging integrated into the lakeside setting.
