CORONADO GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Coronado, CA, USA
Designed by Jack Daray
Few courses offer a playing experience as intrinsically linked to the ebb and flow of naval history as Coronado Golf Course. Carved into the isthmus that connects Coronado to the mainland, the course lies adjacent to North Island Naval Air Station, its fairways once trod by officers on leave and its setting forever influenced by the salty breezes off San Diego Bay.
This accessible municipal course, designed by Jack Daray Sr., presents a parkland-style layout where palm trees sway rather than pines, offering a pleasant round for golfers of all levels. The flat terrain and forgiving fairways make it a welcome experience, but errant shots will find the water that borders many of the holes, adding a tactical element. Coronado is enjoyable and provides many birdie opportunities for a good player, though not particularly daunting.
While Coronado Golf Course hasn’t hosted major championships, its historical proximity to the military has created a unique community. It’s a place where stories of service blend with the friendly banter of a weekend round, where the rumble of jets overhead forms the soundtrack to a casual day on the links. And while the course itself might not grace the pages of glossy magazines, its charm lies in its unpretentious accessibility and the vibrant community it serves.

Neat little course on the island Can see many yachts on Course MUNI Fun to play
A pleasant public with million dollar views. Palm trees water abound. Course is fun but basic but you’re in a great spot hard not to have a good day playing here
Great value for the view, flat and relatively easy for a decent golfer. It feels like it’s nicer than it is simply because you can see the ocean from nearly every hole.
Great vibes at Coronado. Relatively flat and straight forward golf course. Lots of nice views on the water. Not too long or too difficult
One of the best value tracks in SoCal
