CORBALLIS LINKS GOLF CLUB
🇮🇪 Corballis, Dublin, IE
Designed by Ron Kirby
Corballis Links occupies a stretch of linksland on the Donabate peninsula north of Dublin, positioned between the Irish Sea and the Rogerstown Estuary. The course was designed by Ron Kirby and represents one of the more accessible true links experiences in the Dublin region. The property sits on naturally undulating duneland that provides the essential characteristics of links golf: firm turf, coastal breezes, and routing that works with rather than against the existing topography.
The layout makes use of the available land in a straightforward manner, with holes running through corridors of dunes and native grasses. Players encounter the typical challenges of seaside golf—wind direction and strength dictating club selection, firm ground requiring thoughtful approach angles, and greens that reward local knowledge. The course operates as a public facility, which distinguishes it from many of Ireland's private links clubs and makes it a practical option for visitors seeking authentic linksland golf without the formality or cost of more celebrated venues.
Corballis sits in the shadow of better-known courses along Ireland's east coast, but it offers legitimate links character at a modest scale. The setting provides views across the estuary and out toward the Irish Sea, and the routing takes advantage of the natural movement in the land. For golfers exploring the Dublin area, it represents a straightforward example of traditional Irish links design without pretense.
Reviews
Got to experience Ireland costal golf for the first time. Spectacular shorter golf course that really utilizes the dramatic undulations provided by the dunes. The tee to green quality of turf is remarkable for the price point of this course. I believe the course was initially 14 holes so 15-18 could use a character boost but the course was an absolute treat otherwise. Enjoy each short par 3 that is surrounded by a massive dune bowl.
Played in 30th winds. Pretty views and unbeatable for the price. Wouldn’t go here expecting to shoot a low score.
