THE COEUR D'ALENE RESORT GOLF COURSE
🇺🇸 Coeur d'Alene, ID, USA
Designed by Scott Miller

Coeur d'Alene's floating green isn't a gimmick; it's a defining moment of audacity, a testament to the resort's commitment to the unforgettable. Carved into the forested hills above the eponymous lake, the course occupies terrain more akin to a mountain parkland than a traditional lakeside layout. It’s a scenic test where golfers navigate the undulations and strategically placed bunkers that make accuracy more rewarding than raw power.
Designed by Robert Muir Graves in 1991 and later refined by Gene Bates, the layout presents a memorable routing. The course blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Each hole offers unique challenges and breathtaking views that capture the essence of Northern Idaho's beauty. From the elevated tees providing panoramic vistas, to the narrow fairways demanding precise shot placement, Coeur d'Alene favors strategic play over brute force.
Beyond the golf, it is the culture of luxury and service that distinguishes Coeur d'Alene. Boat transfers whisk players to the floating green, a memorable touch. A dedicated caddie program enhances the experience. The club's commitment to excellence, exemplified by its iconic 14th hole, cements its status as a destination where golf becomes a spectacle.
Reviews
Great course. The island green with the boat trolley is obviously the main attraction but the rest of the course was great also. Pretty short course so definitely can shoot pretty well here.
Super fun day. Floating green is obviously the big highlight - course overall is solid. Good value
Well conditioned, resort style layout with great views and iconic holes. Play if you are in the area. Great for boys trip
