THE OLYMPIC CLUB
🇺🇸 San Francisco, CA, USA
Designed by Jay Morrish, Tom Weiskopf

The Olympic Club's Cliffs Course, perched high above the Pacific near the city's western edge, is a testament to San Francisco's enduring love affair with golf on dramatic landscapes. Conceived during the early 20th century, the course cascades across coastal bluffs, its design demanding golfers contend with wind-swept conditions and precipitous drops.
Originally crafted by Arthur Brown Jr., and later refined by notable architects, the Cliffs presents a challenging, though shorter routing. The relentless ocean gusts and tight fairways favor precise shot-making. While not a regular stop for major professional championships, the Cliffs holds a revered place in the club’s internal competitions.
The Olympic Club, deeply woven into San Francisco's social fabric, fosters a membership known as much for its civic leadership as its sporting prowess. After a round battling the elements, members often gather to partake in the club’s iconic "burger dog," a testament to the club's unpretentious and welcoming spirit. The course and club have historically drawn local and national figures from business, law, and politics.
