CIMARRONE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
🇺🇸 Jacksonville, FL, USA
Designed by David Postlethwait

Cimarrone, nestled in the heart of St. Johns, Florida, presents a classic Florida golfing experience, reflective of the late 1980s architectural style. The course meanders through gently rolling terrain, punctuated by numerous water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. It presents a balanced challenge, favoring accuracy over brute power, particularly on its tight, tree-lined fairways. While not known for hosting major championships, Cimarrone provides a solid test for golfers of all skill levels in an enjoyable and accessible setting.
Originally designed by Mark McCumber & Associates, Cimarrone embraces the natural features of its surroundings, creating a visually appealing and engaging round. While subtle doglegs and strategically placed hazards demand thoughtful course management, the generous greens provide ample opportunities for scoring. The course is generally considered a solid example of its era, catering primarily to its membership and the local golfing community.
Beyond the golf, Cimarrone fosters a vibrant social atmosphere. The club is known for its close-knit community and regular social events. The 19th hole buzzes with local chatter, and the club's membership enjoys a reputation for casual conviviality, a place where friendly competition and post-round camaraderie reign supreme.
Reviews
Looks nice on paper but definitely a tourist trap in my opinion. Quite overpriced for a standard Florida community course - amenities were weird too. They give you a coupon for a buffet style lunch that can be used at the turn but not sure who they think wants to bring a take away box of baked beans out on the course.
Last time I played, they were running tee times every 7 minutes. 30 minute wait piled up at the 1st tee… it’s fine for the price, won’t blow you away
